Charlotte Mason built her entire philosophy upon a Code of Education expressly laid down by Christ in the Gospels: "Take heed that ye Offend Not--Despise Not--Hinder Not one of these little ones." She goes on to explain that everything commanded in this code "is included in training up a child in the way he should go."

Parents today can look at these commandments and feel secure in our tasks--surely we do none of these things. Yet, when we look at the deep truths underlying the second point, that we not despise our children, we may be surprised at just how often we break this command of our Savior concerning our beloved little ones.

Emily Kiser will be sharing how to recognize our shortcomings in this regard, so that we may more fully understand what it means to value and respect our children as persons, and to move forward with reverence, faith, and grace trusting the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom in this great task.
