Grieving Dolly Parton the only ways I know how this weekend:

1-3: You guys helped me get Jasper Meets Sparkle into the hands of all the kiddos at the school where I read yesterday. It was such a blessing! Thank you to each of you who generously made that happen ❤️🦋

4: Drank a “Dolly” Vienna Coffee Company with Dustin George and Heidi Lou Parton in Dolly’s memory.

5: Read to another sweet class!

6: The entrance to Dollywood Parks & Resorts is FLOODED with love and flowers/posters. It’s beautiful to see!

Like so many of us, I’ve been reflecting on Dolly Parton’s incredible life and legacy this week. Of all there is to love about her, what I admired most about Dolly was her generosity. She never forgot the mountains that raised her, and she never stopped believing that putting a book into the hands of a child could change a life.

On Friday, I’ll be visiting a rural school near the place where Dolly grew up to read Jasper Meets Sparkle to students. It’s a small school in the Smokies with just 98 students and many of these children come from families living below the poverty line.

My hope is to place a copy of Jasper Meets Sparkle into the hands of every single student. If you’d like to help, you can sponsor a book for a discounted rate of $10 (link in my stories). To sponsor more than one book, just put the appropriate number of books in your cart.

Jasper Meets Sparkle is all about shining your light, and I can’t think of a better way to honor her than to generously gift each of these students in a community she loved a copy.
