Part II Biscocho Mojadito
Simple Syrup
2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1 tsp almond
1/2 tsp vanilla
Add hot simple syrup to hot cake use a squeeze bottle if you have it to ensure it's wet evenly

Frosting
1 cup emulsified lard or Crisco or shortening
2 lbs powdered sugar
A little water or milk

Part I of my biscocho puertoriqueño.

I used 3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
6 eggs
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp almond emulsion
1 tsp vanilla extract

I felt it could have been a tad lighter. Sophie loved it. Learning to bake is costly and time consuming LOL. My mom never baked.

Will try another recipe with butter and no milk soon.
