The WICKED WITCH of NEW YORK POLITICS! Melt her away...TODAY! New Yorkers should not tolerate corrupt Attorney General Letitia "Tricky Tish" James another day!

When I was a kid I do recall
Playing Stickball against a wall

Chalk was used to draw home plate
Life was carefree and really great

We also played it in the street
Hitting two sewers was always a treat

Our equipment consisted of a broomstick
and a pink rubber ball called a
spaldeen or pensy pinkie
When fished out of the sewer they
smelled kind of stinky

They got lost on the roofs
Even rolled down the sewer
When we wiped it down
They looked even newer

They bounced very high
When a kid connected
It flew to the sky

There were many games you could
Play with this ball
“ Hit the Penny “ Stoop ball, and a game
called “ Off the Wall.”

The girls played “ A My Name Is Alice,”
The boys played punchball until
Their fist were calloused

I’ll always remember it was better
than a toy, it didn’t make a difference
If you were a girl or a boy

I miss those games, but remember them
well, even today I could sense that
new ball smell

It was part of my childhood
That I’ll never forget
Playing in the streets
We’re never a threat

I miss playing with that ball when
I was a child, throwing it high in the
air, when catching it
you could see me smile

When I tell this to my grandchildren
of those days gone by
I guess they think I’m an old fashioned
guy

Sometimes they look at me very weird,
like I’m in the twilight zone
Other times they smile and go back
To their phone
