These photos come from from one of our amazing GoFundMe Supporters, Daniel Murphy.
.
He says, “I was a fireman in Brooklyn for 35 years. I’m somewhat of a history buff. I saw Bushwick, a neighborhood rich in the history of Brooklyn go through some tough years, we certainly went to a lot of fires. I’m happy to see it return to a thriving community.
.
“[The pictures] were taken in the East Williamsburg/ Bushwick area in the early to mid 1980’s. They somewhat capture the feel of the area back then. That particular area was a prime dumping ground for stolen and burned cars. It’s part of the reason I think it’s so nice to see that neighborhood return, and why I support your efforts.”
