Here is Joey Garfield's 🧨

"Late one evening in highschool after watching MTV in my friend Paul's basement, a bunch of us thought it would be fun to light fireworks in his alley. When we got back there it started to rain making the firework igniting very difficult. Paul decided it would be easier to light them from the shelter of his car and since we were in his car we might as well drive around a bit. So while Paul drove through the city JB and I lit bottle rockets out of the back seat with the window rolled down just a crack so as not to get wet.
As one could imagine it was difficult to gingerly hold a lit bottle rocket in your hand, aim it out the window crack and release it perfectly timed for blast off while in a moving vehicle. If I let go too early they would fall to the street, hold on too long they'd blow back into the car and smoke us out.
This gave JB an idea. All we needed was something like a bottle or soda can to stick the bottle rocket into and support the launch. So we drove to this park and JB found some empty beer bottles in the garbage can. Perfect. The bottle rockets launched beautifully into the air arching over street lights and skimming off car roofs. I could even aim them in front of the car and they'd burst as we drove through. We were laughing louder than the fireworks until police lights appeared behind us and we got pulled over.
The cops busted us not only for illegally lighting fireworks BUT also unknowingly, for possession of open alcohol while driving a vehicle and possession of alcohol as a minor despite us showing the officers that the beer bottles were all dirty and had cigarette butts in them. I’d do it again."

"The first time I met Mal (my wife) was when she was getting her sisters hotel going in Phoenicia and they threw a New Year’s Eve party for the guests. As she tells it, her sister asked where the guy she’d been talking to all night went. As Mal points me out across the room I catch it out of the corner of my eye, misstep and fell into the Christmas tree knocking it over. 'That’s him.'"
