HOUSE OF HAYES is a creative project founded by sisters, Maggie and Liz Hayes, in an effort to promote artful living. They have developed this to bridge the gaps of their various artistic sensibilities under one label. THEHOUSEOFHAYES.COM HOUSEOFHAYES.BIGCARTEL.COM
House of Hayes moved from its Philly location and is now in operation out of Brooklyn, NYC and Savannah, GA. While we currently no longer have a physical venue for hosting shows, we will be continuing to be involved in music and art scene in both locations as well as focusing more on HXH Quarterly, a new print and digital quarterly arts and culture publication by the House of Hayes.
Mission: PROVOCATIVE IS THE IDEAL. MUSIC IS THE DRIVING FORCE. CAN'T STOP. WON'T STOP.

My dad got this door mat before I was even born...he had seen that Johnny Cash had a sign in front of his house that read "HOUSE OF CASH" and then had the mat made because he thought House of Hayes also had a nice ring to it. We agree.

An example of Sarah Ruggieri's work... A scan of a hand-cut text illustration. Sarah is a wonderful illustrator and will be stretching her legs with large-scale paintings as well, inspired by color fields and the buffing out of graffiti.
During "& in residence", Maggie will be working on a life-sized unfired clay sculpture, reviving an incomplete study on Junior Kimbrough, after this work of hers was damaged..She will also be working in painting and mixed media...
For "& in residence", Kirchin is building a large-scale camera obscura from which she will be making cyanotypes and paintings from the exposures
Sarah Ruggieri is a Philadelphia transplant, hailing originally from the suburbs of DC in Prince George's County, MD. A massage therapist, bartender, food truck pizza slinger, drawer and painter, Sarah's work is hand-made and whole-hearted hustle. She believes in a Shine Flu epidemic, that all things Big are also Small, and that the warmth created in physical, nurturing touch saves our world. Keep Moving, Keep Making.
Maggie Hayes is a Savannah-based artist, yoga instructor and co-founder of the House of Hayes. She doesn't believe in a fixed reality, graduated from none of the four colleges she attended and spent an extensive amount of time at Disney world in formative years of her life. She enjoys a sensually focused approach to experiencing life and art.
Kirchin Weston is a native to Savannah, GA. A product of her public education, she believes the strength of this community is based in the massive diversity that blooms here, and wants to not only preserve the many histories this place is home to, but also help give a voice to the histories that are struggling to survive.
Although she romanticizes about being a widely-influential fine artist, she has a degree in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design where she dabbled in glass blowing, modular furniture design, social design, and experimental agricultural waste material development for new products.
She currently works at SCAD in the digital lab, where she works with 3D printing and laser cutting technologies while she finds her life’s direction as either an artist or designer or something in between.
