Huma Kazi, Television and Radio major, has made the department very proud with her oral abstract presentation selection at Kennesaw State University for NCUR 2019. Her abstract, titled "Arranged Marriages Across Borders: How It's Conceptualized For Young Pakistanis and Pakistani-Americans", has been chosen out of 8,000 submissions from across the US, Canada, and the UK.

The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is strongly committed to the wide expression of all forms and topics of undergraduate research, by all members of the undergraduate research community, and views with great concern any actions or policies that affect that commitment to inclusivity. The conference will be taking place during the second week of April - so wish her luck!

Now Boarding Live!

Now Boarding is a unique new production from Sequence 46, a producing/directing collective based out of Brooklyn, New York. Drawing inspiration from the live multi-camera television anthologies of the 1950s (Playhouse 90, The Twilight Zone) as well as from modern programs such as Horace and Pete, Now Boarding is an anthology series featuring five unique, stand-alone stories.

The series is a live multi-camera show, with five different 30-minute comedy or drama teleplays, each set in an airport. Produced in partnership with the Brooklyn College Television Center and sponsored by Set Hero, the series will be shot live at the BC Television Center’s state-of-the-art multi-cam studio and will be broadcast live on the internet. Each new episode tells a story with new characters, in a new and different airport location. The stories range from mistaken identities, sci-fi Armageddon, drug smuggling, gender issues, betrayal, and more. Shows will begin shooting and airing in March of 2018 and the season will run through May 2018. Visit @NowBoardingLive on Facebook to learn more and watch the series.
