Sometimes I think that the "The True Nanny Diaries" wrote itself. I felt like witness, not writer, as Ms. Valdi confided that being undocumented was death experienced while standing erect. She roared through my keyboard that you babysit the white kids, and you hang-out with friends as if you belong … HERE. You walk American streets dragging a leaky bag of dreams. Valdi said she didn’t leave her Trinidad privilege for that but there was no backward, or forward. She was dead, unburied while working and laughing. I hardly ever mention my book, actually Valdi’s book but it finds its way around through supporters like Alton who has arranged for the renowned Melissa Noel to interview me tonight at 7p.m. I hope you can join us! Thanks and blessings!

Good morning, let's make magic from the ingredients of our day! This morning, as I panted uphill to the train, a man looked at me and said: "Wow, you musta been very beautiful in your youth." I'm trying to make some magic out of that, lol! Have a good one.

Despite their challenges – Petra an undocumented immigrant and Philo who sings on the #4 train - seem content until Mother-in-Law and her nefarious companion Battica visits and blows tiny cracks in their union wide open. As Philo weakens, Petra has help (and often hindrance) in the form of her Hispanic neighbor, Marva. The rib-tickling first meeting of the five characters provokes a downhill spiral as agendas are unveiled and lives are altered.

Thank you for your kind support of my work!
A Kickstarter online fundraising campaign in support of Flambeaux, the musical, is coming soon. I promise that this play during August's Dream Up Festival in New York, New York is a world-premiere that is ambitious, amazing and took a whole "lotta" heart. It is going to change minds for the better; it has already changed mine. I am so thrilled, humbled and honored as we look forward to casting 19 artists culled from an audition process involving 90 superbly talented artists; an outstanding producer, director, musical director, costume designer, dramaturge, choreographer, stage manager and others who believe in the light of this Flambeaux. In addition to the "book" (play), there is an excellent musical score (original music) and much more! We will need your help to pull this off but more on that later!
I invite you to like the page "Flambeaux, the Musical Play" and join me and the team on a new journey which begins at New York's Dream Up theater festival in August!
