This symposium is intended to set out and to protest the scale of the potential for damage to these precious sites. I...

The U.S. has ratified more than 370 treaties with American Indian nations. Yet many Americans know little about the treaties that shaped, and continue to impact, the country today.

Filmmaker Angelo Baca screened his film Shaash Jaa' last week at U. of Utah's College of Law. Panel & Q&A HERE:

Did you miss Wednesday night's discussion?

We've got you, listen in at the link below.

"We won something, we won and we fought, and our warriors look different. They are Anthropologists, they're film makers, they're students at Dartmouth, they're assistant professors, they're lawyers...This is what it looks like to fight in the 21st century." -James Singer

"Are you willing to make the right decision and protect it (land) for future generations, or are we going to go down the wrong path and trade it in for money...
We are honored to invite you to come to Bears Ears to take part in that responsibility. Share in that story but to come in a good and respectful way. If five tribes can lay down their previous struggles or battles with each other and take up a good conversation, a wonderful welcoming of everyone, then I think we can do that with everyone else here too." -Angelo Baca

"This is something that started before any of us...
...Blanding is not an old community...Bears Ears and the designation of the monument is very much a manifestation of being resistant to settler colonialism in the present time." -Micah Daniels
