This is my second time using an Augustinus Bader product. I was introduced to their brand when I received their eye cream earlier this year. I love their eye cream and use it daily so my expectations were high. I like this product but I’m not blown away by it. It works well, has great benefits for the skin but for the price point I would be hesitant to repurchase. I might be swayed in my opinion after I use for a longer time period. As of yet I haven’t seen any difference in my skin besides the protection the SPF in this sunscreen gives. This has a broad-spectrum, high SPF 50, that gives protection against UVA & UVB rays. It also is supposed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other visible signs of aging, even skin tone and prevent the appearance of redness caused by exposure to the sun.
The formula is creamy and provides good coverage with minimal amount. It does absorb into the skin quickly but I felt like I could still see some faint white cast at certain angles. I didn’t apply makeup over the sunscreen so I can’t attest to how it
would interact with any on. It felt fully absorbed after 15-20 minutes and at that point I didn’t notice any visible signs of wearing it. Even though the formula felt light I could feel I was wearing it, not uncomfortable or annoying, just an awareness of something coating my skin. I experienced a hot flash after applying and I felt like it locked in the heat on my face, just a heads up for any other pre-menopausal ladies to be aware of. I like the idea of a sunscreen with skincare benefits and if you’re a fan of Augustinus Bader this might be a great addition to your daily skincare routine. Be aware though if you’re going to be swimming or sweating you need to also use a water-resistant sunscreen and this one needs to be reapplied at least every two hours.
