🚨 We’re open for submissions! 🚨

As part of our mission to demystify publishing and to develop exceptional science books, we welcome queries and submissions from scientists, mathematicians, and science writers, whether you have an agent or not.

Our beat is basic, fundamental science—aka curiosity-driven science—encompassing physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry and theoretical computer science. Within those areas, we’re excited to consider rigorously reported narrative nonfiction, explainers of fundamental ideas, and biographies of scientists or mathematicians, as well as history of science and natural history.

If you’d like to learn more, get in touch! Send your queries to info[at]quantabooks.org or visit our website (link in bio).

Today we’re thrilled to launch Quanta Books, a new science imprint led by Thomas Lin, the founding editor of Quanta Magazine, in partnership with Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

As an editorially independent imprint supported by the Simons Foundation, we’re driven by our mission: to publish books that illuminate and elucidate the central questions and fundamental ideas of modern science, for readers who want to know more.

Our first title, Kevin Hartnett's THE PROOF IN THE CODE (coming 2026), tells the gripping story of the birth and rise of Lean, a computer program developed by Microsoft that’s now transforming the world of mathematics. It’s a timely challenge to our assumptions about who–or what–can do math.

Want to work with us? 🚨Quanta Books is open to submissions!🚨 We welcome queries and proposals from scientists, mathematicians, and science writers (agented or unagented). If you have a brilliant proposal for a science or math book, we’d love to hear from you. Visit www.quantabooks.org to learn more or contact us at info[at]quantabooks.org.

The imprint is the fruit of a partnership with the Simons Foundation, where it is an editorially independent subsidiary led by publisher Thomas Lin, founding editor of Pulitzer Prize–winning ‘Quanta Magazine.’
