July 20, 2019. In 1969 I was 15 and in my first community theater (Cornstock in Bradley Park in Peoria) production, the musical George M! We were deep in rehearsal (show opening in early August) while Apollo 11 was going on. But that magic night, watching those images on the big living room TV was stunning. It was not just WE'RE ON THE MOON, we could watch it in our own homes. This was a myth level accomplishment. Humans had entered legend. Even today I am awed by the courage and passion and trust that it took.

Tonight's Radio Free Brooklyn Chill Room at midnight ET (9pm PT 5am GT) features my Moon Landing Template special and we listen to Carl Sagan on the moon landing. It's short (half hour long) and is followed by the Leap Into The Void show.

I invite my friends and everyone to contemplate on the greatness of our humanity today, July 20, 2019.

Join Izabela Gola and Rebecca Major for their I ART New York walk through of the Whitney Biennial, which is the longest-running exhibition in the country. This years edition reveals statements of resistance with an emphasis on history and sort through divisive national political, social and economic issues resulting from increasing MFA student debt, and new real estate developments which is pushing out small galleries and raising art studio rents higher.
For the first time in over a decade the curatorial team has been totally internal: Rujeko Hockley and Jane Panetta
curated this year's 79th edition, which includes the work of 75 artists and collectives working in painting, sculpture, installation, film and video, photography, performance, and sound.
The Whitney biennial traces the latest developments in American art. Themes in the exhibition circulate around issues of identity, representation, history, economics, class, as well as a critique on Western hegemony. The biennial spans several floors, outdoor terraces and features film and performance programs."

Music is provided by More Than Skies and Adam James Tomlinson. The song played is "Act Casually" from the newest album Everyone is a Loaded Gun. Check it out!
