I’m Ali — I am beyond honored to serve as the Social Media, Event & Fundraising Coordinator for Raw Recovery-The Community, founded by the unstoppable Dannie Shields. But today’s post isn’t just about the show.
It’s about her.
Dannie is more than a founder and creator.
More than a host.
More than a woman in recovery.
Dannie is:
The voice that tells you the truth — even when it’s hard.
The safe place when you feel like you’re falling apart.
The laugh in the middle of chaos.
The calm in someone else’s storm.
She is courage when things feel impossible.
She is faith when someone has lost hope.
She is resilience in real time.
She is proof that pain can turn into purpose.
She doesn’t just talk about recovery — she lives it.
She doesn’t just hold space — she creates it.
She doesn’t just share her story — she hands you the mic and makes you feel safe enough to share yours.
She is intelligent, strategic, compassionate, driven and somehow still humble about it all.
She leads with heart.
She leads with honesty.
She leads with lived experience.
And beyond the camera, beyond the episodes, beyond the advocacy — she is fiercely loyal. Protective. Grounded. The kind of woman who builds a table and pulls up extra chairs and I am so lucky have a seat and get to love her.
Raw Recovery exists because she refused to let shame win.
It exists because she believes that stories save lives.
It exists because she knows what it feels like to sit in the dark — and she decided to become light instead.
