Author Joselin Linder's just-released The Family Gene is a memoir about the deadly effects of a unique genetic mutation on her family, as well as their efforts to stop it. In part two of our two part conversation, Sean and Nicole sit down with Linder to discuss her new book and the ins and outs of making a living as a writer, including finding an agent, getting work for hire, using a pseudonym, and winning battles against writer's block. If you’re on the internet, you’ve heard of it. Writer K.T. Bradford threw down the gauntlet a couple of weeks ago and challenged readers to, for the next year, pick up books that weren’t by the canon’s favorite categories—white, male, and cis. She added a few suggestions of her own, but we here at Stoned Crow Press want to help you along with this challenge, too.
