Today at 11 am, the Kaleidocast Season 4 went live. https://www.kaleidocast.nyc/ is the Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers homegrown, pro-paying story podcast. We tell speculative fiction stories that reflect life in the City and all that entails. We pair tales from the best writers in the world with brand new talents straight out of Brooklyn. All the stories are powerful, dangerous, scary, funny, inspiring, and beautiful.

Kaleidocast is all about creating meaningful learning experiences and challenges. This season has been a significant departure from previous ones. We saw an expanded team behind the scenes. BSFW members got their feet wet audio engineering, editing, writing, producing, and acting!

The characters from the first 3 seasons meta stories that frame each episode have been (mostly) retired so that new ones could pop up. Introducing Allison Mayfly, Veronica Friend, and Jean Val Vegan. The two newbie podcasters and their frenemy down the hall are voiced by Divyansha Sehgal Randee Dawn and Jason Smith.

Finally, this season couldn’t come together without our amazing narrators. Special thanks to Tatiana Grey Wilson Fowlie and Rish Outfield who have read stories for us since the very first season. They are joined by Joffrey, Laurice White, Mary Rodgers, Tony Perry, Sally Hourigan, Alexandra Palocz, and more to come.

Without further ado, here is the Kaleidocast Season 4 Table of Contents. I’m sure you’ll see some friends on the list. I know I do.

We hope you've been enjoying our collaborative story, wherein one author starts the tale and then hands it off to the next until it's done. No one's sure where we'll end up. The only thing we all agree on is that the genre is fantasy (or is it?)

The Exquisite Co**se is a collaborative story, an insane puzzle where one author starts the tale and then hands it off to the next until it's done, hardly ever ending up anywhere near where it started.

We've done horror and sci-fi, so over. So what now? Fantasy!

To our Patreon Subscribers: As we near the official release of Kaleidocast: Season 4, we may have mentioned we're pretty excited about our collection of speculative stories. One of those is "How The Pooka Came To New York City," by Delia Sherman, touching on both speculative and Brooklyn-centered themes, like mythical creatures and immigration.

In today's episode, our own Randee Dawn interviews author Delia Sherman, where much is discussed, from tricksters to cons. Enjoy!
https://www.patreon.com/posts/tricksters-dawn-84571683?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link

Delia Sherman is the author of numerous short stories and novels for both adults and younger readers, somewhere in the historical-fantastical-comical-romantic-feminist vein. She is or has been a teacher, an editor, a member of the Otherwise Award Motherboard, a co-founder of the Interstitial Arts Foundation, a judge of literary awards, a book store clerk, a gardener, a knitter, a cook, a traveler, and a flaming liberal. She lives in New York with fellow-writer Ellen Kushner and is working on an Endless Historical Novel.

Randee Dawn is a Brooklyn-based entertainment journalist whose debut novel, Tune in Tomorrow, about a fantastical TV reality show, published in August. She writes about show business for Variety, The Los Angeles Times, Emmy Magazine and Today.com and is the co-author of The Law & Order: Unofficial Companion. Find out more at RandeeDawn.com

What's an exquisite co**se? It's a collaborative story, an insane puzzle of a piece. One author starts the tale and then hands it off to the next until it's done, hardly ever ending up in the same place it started.

This season's co**se story, like last season's, is a veritable who's-who of speculative fiction and some of the best authors from Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers. Most of them have featured stories in our upcoming season.

We've already done horror and sci-fi. What now? Fantasy!
