Big news! 4-H is teaming up with NBCUniversal and Wicked Movie to celebrate youth who lead with heart and hands 🩷💚🫶.

As an official nonprofit partner of Wicked: For Good—in theaters Nov. 21—4-H is shining a spotlight on young changemakers who prove that everyday acts of good can be powerful.

The 4-H Teen Club did an upcycling project with snack food boxes. Teens were able to make a snack box notebook, pillow gift box, mini savings binder, or a folder. Youth also elected officers for the 25-26 year.

11 teams of bakers met at Warren County Extension today to compete in 2 rounds of Cupcake Wars. Themes were Holiday and The Great Outdoors! We are so proud of these youth and their families for working hard and competing for the title of Cupcake Wars State Champions!

1st Place- Sweet Treasures: Julian Denham & Kayelynn Turner; Edmonson County

2nd Place- Sweet Symphony: Emma Maxey & Reese Jones; Monroe County

3rd Place- Sigma Sweets: Jayden Emmert & Roslyn Barlow; Monroe County

Exciting news—today, USDA posted the Request for Applications (RFA) for the Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grant Program! Projects can range from $100,000 to $500,000 and USDA will award up to $18 million for this grant cycle.

This grant is designed to:
🌱 Increase the availability of local foods in Child Nutrition Programs
🌱 Connect students to where their food comes from
🌱 Fund nutrition education, taste tests, school gardens, field trips, and more

Grants can be used to launch new farm to school programs or expand existing efforts!

For questions and technical assistance, the USDA Farm to School Team will host office hours to provide applicants with an opportunity to ask questions about the grant program. Sessions will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM Eastern Time on:

Congratulations to “Sweet Treasures” Julian Denham and Kayelynn Turner for bringing home the win with their “Witches Brew” Mocha Cupcake and their AMAZING Maple Pecan Cupcake!!!
