Tesla Cybercab is now undergoing intensive winter testing in the United States as the company prepares for its expected production start later this year. Recent sightings show prototype units being driven around Buffalo, New York, an area known for harsh winter conditions, suggesting Tesla is validating the vehicle’s performance in snow, cold temperatures, and rough road conditions. Engineers are reportedly running the vehicles continuously in shifts to gather large amounts of real-world data. Tesla has already expanded Cybercab testing across several U.S. states including California, Texas, New York, Illinois, and Massachusetts as it moves closer to deployment of its autonomous ride-hailing network. The Cybercab, a purpose-built robotaxi without traditional controls, is expected to enter early production in 2026, with the company aiming to launch large-scale robotaxi operations once the technology and regulations allow it.
