It has been a while! Today I was out meandering along and stumbled across this gem. I am all about old houses and buildings and observing the structures. Old doors and door k***s are something I have always loved for some reason and when I saw this I had to stop. It is on the front of a house that used to be an old Poor Farm many years ago. I bet if this door and the walls of the house it is on could talk there would be some really amazing stories.

I have been MIA for a few days. I started a new job and have been getting acclimated to it. I have a decent commute so, by the time I drive there, work my 9-5, then drive back, I am ready to eat and hit the couch lol. Now, I will soon be used to it and putting some stuff together to post so hang in there with me. Once the weather clears I have some locations to feature and some cool crafty stuff coming up. I'll try to post in between to keep my fb activity rolling for the sake of my achievement record so please keep interacting. Feel free to share cool vintage stuff with me as well!

I am about to get all settled in for the evening (don't judge, I'm old) and I need something to watch. I obviously like old movies and tv shows, preferably funny, but I am interested in anything at the moment. Any suggestions?

An old farmer's trick to know how many snows you will have next winter is to count the snows this year. They say you can count it as a snow if you can track a chicken in it. I have chickens but they have been staying in their coop so I wonder if this counts....

Everyone in the path of this projected snow storm, stay safe, stay warm, and wear your big coat if you have to go outside. My fellow appalachians will get this next one...don't forget the bread bags in your snow boots and wear your hat and gloves too. In all seriousness, I hope you all are able to hunker down and weather it out safely. To all my folks where it is warmer and not snowing, I hope you know how jealous I am right now 😂. I will be here on my couch getting over whatever crud I picked up. Love ya'll and appreciate you for following me!

I have had enough snow and cold weather now. Time for spring. I am ready to plant my garden, go camping, and find some new adventures. What are you looking forward to with the warmer weather?

These two pieces were given to me by my grandma a few years ago and they had been my Granny's. They are from the early 1900's and in impecible condition. They were used for their intended purpose but obviously were well cared for. People took care of things back in the day. They didn't treat everything as disposable. They didn't just automatically think "I'll just get another one" because that usually wasn't the case. I don't think there are too many things in stores today that are meant to last like things were back then. And, unfortunately, not many people take care of things like they did back then either.
