The fact that my glitter sunscreen showed up in so many of these pictures has me literally jumping out of my seat with excitement! 🤩

If you didn’t already know, I am working on a line glitter products for Highland Game athletes. Glitter sunscreen, tack and chalk all COMING SOON! ✨

One of those that walked so the rest of us could run. 🔥❤️

You may have not ever competed with her, but we all know her name.

Adriane is so much fun to be on the field with. USUALLY I only ever get to see her in Enumclaw…but THIS year I get the privilege of following her around at the Maine Highland Games as well!!! And I am beyond excited about that!

Her personality definitely shines in her photos and I’m here for them all. ❤️

This time last year, I was in Missoula, Montana editing Enumclaw photos in a sweet hotel room and getting ready for Spokane!!

Sadly (and not so sadly), this year I am in my own office editing Enumclaw photos getting ready for Clash of the Valkyries!

If you are in the area and want to come say hi, we will be at Lake Washington CrossFit in Lakewood, Washington tomorrow! Event starts at 10am!

North To Alaska! To join the media team!!

TBH I’m TERRIFIED. If you don’t already follow the Alaska games instagram page, go check it out. Their media output is off the charts.

So I’m stepping in with the best of the best up there. (Wish me luck 😬 🍀)

But I’m OVER THE MOON excited to finally be able to photograph the salmon toss and witness some of the best throwers in the business do their stuff!

So keep an eye out THIS weekend for some Alaskan adventures! 🚀

A “Pro-tip” that the other Pros aren’t talking about.

“Something magic happens when you realize that Rest and Stagnancy are not the same thing”

For some reason I grasped this concept SO easily in athletics and fitness. Rest is KEY to muscle growth and avoiding burn out.
WHY is it I haven’t been able to connect the dots with all other aspects of my life. Especially art and photography. Photography has been such a huge part of my life for so long and all I have ever heard from “gurus” and “influencers” is practice everyday, carry your camera with you everywhere. But you know what? Some of my favorite images have come from after a hiatus. Some of my most exciting ideas have come from after a period of time without a camera in hand.

Does this count as published?? Because if so, It’ll be the second time someone has wanted to print my images!!!
The first time was the enumclaw newspaper who used one of my images for the cover story on the 2022 games. (Shout out to for being the first “chosen one”) …if I had gone down to the office I could have got a copy of it…but im pretty sure they don’t hold things for as long as it’s been… 😅

Anyway, be sure to keep an eye out if you are in the enumclaw area for posters and brochures for THE CLAW!

The look on my face when someone recognizes me out in public from Instagram. 😅

This past weekend I was at a dance convention we go to every year like clock-work (I totally forgot any video or photo from this year, but I’ll share a video I did last year if anyone wants to see a dance floor install. 😅)

Anyway, it’s like 10pm and out of no where this adorable human being walks up to our little group and keeps looking at me, and in my mind I’m like “she is probably waiting to talk to Jim (our resident pro dancer) or maybe there is something in my teeth”… we make eye contact again and she starts with “so this might sound weird, but… do you do Highland Games?”. …like she could have smacked me in the face I was so DUMB FOUNDED. 🤣
And you guys, we might have a new convert to our NW kilt posse.

it was genuinely nice to meet you and I’m SO thankful you came up and said something. I hope to see you at practice and maybe out on the dance floor again! ❤️💃🏼

Ok, so I know we are right in the middle of the holiday rush, but…

I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!!! Now, I was previously REALLY torn on whether I was going to photog more or compete more this coming season but I find myself dreaming about being on the field with my camera. I honestly wish I could have the athletic camaraderie with the independence and creativity of photography. But with the creative independence, you can’t really do the socializing 😭

So if you see me out on the field with my camera, don’t be intimidated! I LOVE the social aspect of being on the field. It honestly makes you as athletes more comfortable with me as a photographer which makes for better photos! 🔥ria

If you happen to follow me on instagram, you have seen I have made some changes to the stuff I post . I figured I would test it out there before bringing it to the greatness that is Facebook.

I'm veering away from strictly highland game photography and making this more of a content creator page. I will still be posting some of my work (as I will continue to be a games photographer/videographer) and my website will still be available at the same link : cmontaguephoto.com

So, going forward there will be a wider variety of videos and photos centered around highland games, fitness, humor and my photography. I want to make this an uplifiting and inspirational feed while also keeping it light hearted and funny. Feel free to reach out to me with what you like and what you want to see more of! ❤️
