My worker refused to get into this trench because he said it needed proper shoring for safety. He walked off the job, so I ended up climbing in and finishing the work myself.
I get that safety matters, but it’s wild how much job sites have changed over the years.

To the person who understands these water meter setups — can you help me out? I need to shut off the water to my house in San Diego but can’t locate the main valve. The only possible spot seems to be where I marked with the red arrow. Is that the shut-off, and how would I turn it off?

My wife is still crying over the absolute state of our lawn! We paid a local plumbing outfit $3,800 to fix a supposed broken sewer line and I came home to find this disaster zone. They used cheap plastic pipes instead of the solid iron pipe that was originally there because they said it was 'easier for them to get parts.' EASIER? You charged me for a full day repair! Then the foreman had the nerve to tell my wife not to walk near it because 'we didn't support it right yet' and it might break! So they charged me thousands to dig a hole and put a pipe that can't be walked near? And what are these illegal 90 degree elbows? My neighbor who is a real plumber said this is how sewer lines clog immediately. I have to call a different plumber to fix their garbage work now and they already cashed my check.

The living room gas fireplace has been on for two hours... AND WATER IS POURING OUT OF OUR UPSTAIRS LIGHT FIXTURES! 🚿🔥 The plumber mounted the massive, $2,000 PEX water manifold DIRECTLY AGAINST THE 500-DEGREE FIREPLACE EXHAUST FLUE! 🛑 The intense heat has literally melted 20 individual pressurized plastic water lines into a bubbling, sticky spiderweb! 🫠 60 PSI of city water is currently destroying our brand-new framing and the drywall below. A catastrophic, brain-dead placement error. 💸🚨
