Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson

Historical Horror
4.25⭐️

My first suggestion, go into this book blind and thank me later. It will have the most impact if you truly don’t know what you are going into. With that being said it does give historical fiction mixed with horror, so be prepared. This was so much more than I went into it expecting. In a strange way it gave me S.A. Crosby vibes mixed with Stephen King like horror. My first read by Keith Rosson and will definitely not be my last. Highly recommend you add this one to your tbr’s immediately. 😍

Misery by Stephen King
Horror
3.5⭐️

I’m so glad I finally read this book. It lives up to the hype, truly. Gruesome, gory, and so damn stressful. The axe? The electric knife? 🫣 my goodness! Be prepared! Only reason I didn’t rate this higher is there are other books by him that I enjoyed even more in comparison. (IT, The Stand, 11/22/63, The Green Mile, The Institute).

I do still highly recommend you add this to your tbr if you love horror. Now to watch the movie 😀

The Place Where They Buried Your Heart by Christina Henry

Horror
4.5⭐️

It’s been a while since I have read a horror book and what a great one to dive back into the genre with 👏

Fast paced and immediately disturbing and creepy from the first chapter. Pulling you in and hooking you right away, without hesitation. Truly a dark, creepy, gruesome story that was quick to read and binge and gave me the nostalgia of reading IT for the first time. In the best of ways. If you love horror books and haunted houses/IT. I highly recommend you give this a read.

👏👏👏 Hands down my favorite of the series so far (including Ruthless Boys). When I tell you I was crying in the first chapter needing tissues, I am not exaggerating. This brought so many emotions out of me and truly was one hell of a roller coaster ride. The many many many heartbreaking, earth shattering, shocking lows, and the snippets of highs with humor, whimsy, hope, love, and unwavering loyalty…. 🥲👏 so well done and so well written. I don’t understand what people don’t enjoy about this series. Truly talented authors to maintain such a massive story, with so many perspectives and facets to truly keep track of and continue on smoothly with no gaps or plot holes.

I started reading this officially Saturday morning and here I sit finished with it by Wednesday afternoon. If that doesn’t tell you how powerful this one specifically was then I don’t know what will.

If you haven’t picked up this series yet or were resistant cause the first books may have not clicked… give it a chance, push through. I promise you it will be worth it. 🫶💕
