Twenty years after its Festival de Cannes World Premiere in May 2001 and David Lynch's Best Director Prize, Mulholland Drive was back on the Croisette in Cannes in July in the Cannes Classics Selection. It was presented by STUDIOCANAL in a restored copy created by the joint efforts of The Criterion Collection and StudioCanal from the original negative, scan in 4K at FotoKem, sound remastering from the original 5.1 sound. Sound and image were validated by David Lynch, in Cinema and HDR format.
Back in July, David Lynch Archivist - Lynchland gave you the full details regarding that Mulholland Drive 4K restoration technical process :

Here’s a peek at a current restoration project: director William Dieterle’s “All That Money Can Buy” (1941), a rural American Faustian tale featuring an Oscar-nominated Walter Huston as the earthly embodiment of the devil. Digital restoration work has been completed at Roundabout Entertainment, pictured here, and the project now moves to FotoKem, where new 35mm elements will be created. 🎞
“All That Money Can Buy” is being restored by the Archive and The Film Foundation in collaboration with Janus Films, MoMA The Museum of Modern Art and The Library of Congress. Funding provided by The Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation.

Photo : a Mulholland Drive standee created to celebrate the June 11th Spanish re-release of David Lynch's film by Avalon, that is releasing an almost complete David Lynch's feature films retrospective in Spain ! Note the mistake on this standee : David L. won the Best Director Prize in Cannes (ex-aequo with the Coen Bros) but lost the Best Director Oscar (Ron Howard got it) at The Academy. Hat tip to our friend Aaron Cohen for the picture.
