In this sequence we worked closely with our match move artists, roto artists, and compositing team to both create a day for night shot as well as add additional rain, water, wet clothing and sky replacement. Utilizing the power of compositing in Nuke and using 2D assets that made this totally possible.

In this sequence we worked closely with the FX TD, match move artists, roto artists, and compositors to both create the day for night shot as well as add a magical bioluminescent effect to the water. Using new technology to help with relighting in the comp was what helped make this possible.

In a chilling scene from Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz’s late 2024 horror film “Curse of the Necklace,” a seemingly ordinary bookshelf takes on a sinister life of its own, becoming a menacing presence that perfectly encapsulates the film’s supernatural undertones. [Link in Comments]

We’re so excited to reflect on the incredible projects we’ve worked on recently, and one standout is The Curse of the Necklace, directed by the brilliant Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz and starring the talented Madeleine McGraw (The Black Phone).

In one of the film's most haunting scenes, we created a stunning visual effect where an actor's head crumbles into chunks of ash and swirls dramatically around Madeleine’s character. To achieve this, we used photoscans of the actor’s head, combined with advanced simulations in Houdini, and seamlessly composited the swirling ash with Nuke.

It was an amazing experience collaborating with the creative team to craft such a visually striking moment that adds to the film’s supernatural intensity.
