The Church-King County weekly Community Bible Study on Building an Apostolic Community produced some great prophetic points.
We learned that the term "apostolic" [meaning "to be sent out"] entails that the SENT ONE(s) have a SPECIFIC mission (to make disciples through preaching and teaching) and a SPECIFIC message ("THIS" gospel of the Kingdom of God [Matt. 24:14]).
The mission or the message cannot be altered, but must remain as it was given and designed.
Apostolic also implies that we have a LINEAGE that can be traced back to Jesus Christ via faith, mission and message [Matt. 12:48-50; Mark 3:33-35]. And because we have this lineage, we have access to the WILL and TESTAMENT of Yahweh, ratified and activated by death of Jesus Christ [Rom. 8:17].
We learned that LOVE is the BLOOD of the BODY of Christ.
We learned that the Body has to look as it was formed to be recognized by Christ [Matt. 7:21-23]. The gifts will not determine whether we are the Body, but the form (ONE BODY-ONE CHURCH) and the BLOOD (Love).
