A CROWN 👑 REPRESENTATION, A LEGACY OF POSSIBILITY
Today, I want to celebrate 🎉 something truly beautifull happening in our Green Mountain State of Vermont - Miss Black Vermont 2026!
As a civil rights activist, humanitarian and Host of Hey Neighbour Hey Talkshow in the State of Vermont this moment means more to me than a crowd and a title. It is about representation, visibility, dignity, confidence and opening doors for the next generation.
To Miss Black Vermont 2026, I want you to know that your presence matters. Your journey matters. Your voice matters. And the young people watching you are taking notes, even when you don’t realize it.
And to every Black girl growing up in Vermont.
Look at her. See yourself in her.
Your dreams are not too big.
Your voice is not too loud.
Your shin is not something you should ever hide.
Your culture is something to celebrate.
Your story deserves to be heard.
Your future belongs to YOU.
There was a time when representation like this was far too rare. Today, we celebrate how far we’ve come, while recognizing that there is still work to do to ensure that every child in Vermont can see themselves represented, respected, valued and welcomed.
A crown is beautifull but the responsibility that comes with it is even more powerfull.
May Miss Black Vermont 2026 continue to inspire, educate, uplift and serve as an example of what is possible when we believe in ourselves and each other.
Vermont, let us celebrate her.
Let us encourage her.
