If you have to show a utility bill or rent agreement to speak at a public school board meeting- your school board might need to be replaced
📢Public Comment Guidelines📢
In accordance with Arkansas law, Wynne Public Schools will provide public comment opportunities for district residents, parents/guardians of current students, and current staff members during Board of Education meetings. To ensure fairness, respect, and privacy, please remember:
•The Board must remain neutral in personnel matters and student discipline issues. Please do not discuss specific students or staff members during public comment.
•Each speaker will have one opportunity to speak.
•Board members will not engage in dialogue with speakers.
•Speakers should refrain from obscene or vulgar language, slanderous remarks, or violent language that could lead to a breach of the peace.
•Remarks should be addressed to the entire Board, not individual members.
•If these guidelines are not followed, the speaker may be asked to stop, and any remaining time will be forfeited.
•The Board is not responsible for any resulting privacy law violations or civil claims.
•The Board President (or designee) may stop comments not following these guidelines.
⏱ Speaking Requirements & Time:
• Parents/Guardians of current students will be verified through e-School.
• District resident speakers must present a photo ID and proof of residence within the school district (such as a utility bill or rental agreement).
•Each speaker has three minutes to address the Board from the podium.
•If public comment exceeds 30 minutes, any remaining comments that do not address action items on the agenda will be moved to the end of the meeting.
