🪿 The good, the bad, and the ugly
Let’s talk about something nobody talks about.
Sick geese. Sick goslings. The stuff that happens even when you know what you’re doing.
I recently had a gosling come down sick and I immediately knew she needed antibiotics. What I didn’t know? How nearly impossible it is to get antibiotics for birds over the counter anymore.
After a lot of searching, I finally found a vet and she gave her an antibiotic injection and sent me home with antibiotics to continue treatment. Fast forward a few days and she’s completely back to normal as if nothing happened.
Find your vet before you need one. Animals like to hide being sick — once you see they are sick, it’s because they’re too sick to hide it and they need treatment immediately.
This isn’t always pretty. S**t happens. The difference is knowing when something is wrong and moving fast.
I wanted to share this because this just isn’t talked about enough. 🪿
I’ve now named her Lucky and she has made friends with the dogs 💕
