This was a special project. Not only is Mrs. America an incredible show, but we have been finishing the last few episodes of the series under this lockdown.
I love my team, and this show really put us to the test. I’ve never been so thankful to have such amazing people by my side, and to be able to write, record and mix this score, all from our homes took a lot of coordination, hard work, and dedication, all while we individually deal with how this pandemic is affecting our personal lives. Thank you so much to @pierrecharlesmusic @khagoodmusic @max_zane @sunkingstudios @encompassmusic and all of the musicians that brought life and love to this score from their home recording studios!! Shoutout to the brilliant creator Dahvi Waller, and the amazing Cate Blanchett+ the rest of the insanely talented cast and crew. This is one for the history books!

Copland / Randall

This weekend, our vocal contractor and creative partner Jasper Randall will be premiering a Requiem he wrote for the Los Robles Master Chorale under the baton of Lesley Leighton. We are so proud of him and encourage any of you who are available to attend!

“With ‘Requiem’, I wanted to create something warm and beautiful. It’s a loving memorial, where one looks back on their loss with gratitude and celebration of life, experience and love. While the traditional Latin propers might be considered cold and distant, I’ve chosen to set them more like modern prose, with melodic lines and familiar harmonies.

As is the goal with most of my compositions, I write not to impress the listener intellectually, but to move them emotionally. And if what I’ve written accomplishes that, then I’ve done my job.”

In addition to the world premiere of this work, LRMC will perform Copland's In The Beginning featuring soloist Niké St. Clair.

Randall's requiem features singers Laura Dickinson, Veronica Robinson, Sara Mann, Alec Fore and Jessica Rotter.
