Recognizing a need for a direct line of communication to visitors and residents of Canadohta Lake, the Canadohta Communty Radio Group (CCRG) was formed September 23, 2013 for the purpose of applying for a non-commercial, non-profit, Low Power FM (LPFM) radio station to serve the Canadohta Lake area. Sunny 105.7 began serving Canadohta Lake on May 28, 2016 at 5PM with weather, information and Canad

ohta Lakes's greatest hits. LPFM radio stations are non-commercial and can only be licensed to non-profit groups, therefore, Sunny 105.7 is not be a business venture. Salute to Area Veterans At the Lake Canadohta History Center Saturday July 19

You are cordially invited to attend the Distinguished Speaker Series and the Quilts of Valor presentation this Saturday at 11:00 am, held at the Lake Canadohta History Center on Lake Road, Union City, PA. This Veterans Salute is complimentary and open to individuals of all ages, with families encouraged to bring their children.

The event will feature two notable speakers. The first, Mary Jane Phillips Koenig, a native of Union City, played a significant role in authoring a book on local World War I veterans and the industries that supported the war effort. Ms. Koenig will share compelling stories highlighting the impact of the war on our region.

Our second distinguished speaker, Richard James Anton, has authored a book about his uncle, Sgt. James Anton, whose life as an Aerial Engineer tragically ended in a B-26 training accident during World War II. Drawing from personal diaries and letters, Mr. Anton offers an intimate perspective on military service and sacrifice during wartime.

Following the presentations, the Quilt of Valor ceremony will be conducted by the Happy Scrappers Quilting Group, led by Annette Burgess. This nationwide organization honors deserving veterans with handcrafted patriotic quilts, and we are pleased to announce that local veterans Pat Coates, Danny Miller, James Miller, and Tim Roberts will be recognized during this ceremony.

It is our hope to establish the Veterans Salute as an annual tradition at the History Center. Please join us for our inaugural celebration on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am. Memberships and raffle tickets will be available at the event.
