🌪️ The Real, Unfiltered Level 2 Autism Moments
Let’s get real for a second — not the Pinterest‑perfect autism posts, not the “every child is a blessing” speeches.
I mean the actual Level 2 autism moments that parents like us live through every single day.The meltdowns because there are no Goldfish.
The devastation because the Oreos are the wrong Oreos.
The full‑body grief because you dared to wash the bedding and now the universe is ruined. The elopement — the running off with zero fear, zero hesitation, zero awareness of danger.
Your heart living permanently in your throat because safety is a full‑time job.The sensory needs that never clock out.
The constant movement, the seeking, the crashing, the spinning, the pressure, the noise.
The overwhelm that hits like a tidal wave because the world is just too much. The sleep issues that make you question if you’re raising a child or a tiny nocturnal forest creature.
The vocal stims that are so loud you swear the neighbors think you’re running a dinosaur sanctuary. The crying — the real, heartbreaking crying — because you reorganized something.
Or moved a pillow.
Or washed a blanket.
Or breathed wrong. This is the part people don’t talk about.
The part that isn’t cute or inspirational.
The part that leaves you exhausted, proud, overwhelmed, and fiercely protective all at once. But it’s also the part that makes our kids who they are —
intense, honest, sensory‑seeking, deeply feeling, beautifully wired little humans who experience the world in a way most people never will.
And parents like us?
We’re doing the impossible every day, even when it looks like chaos from the outside.
