"Gentle parenting is for gentle children" do you agree
Have you seen this viral video of an American mom? She's a grade 2 teacher. She was hitting her 12 years old son with a belt. According to reports, it was 23 times in just 14 seconds😭
--- As a child who received beatings that felt like something more than “just discipline,” my heart aches for this boy.
Children know. Even when they’re little, even when adults try to downplay it — they know when something crosses the line.
(And speaking from personal experience.. I knew. I could feel it.)
This boy wasn’t “disciplined.”
He was beaten 23 times with a belt.
He was dragged by his hair.
He was cursed at, humiliated, and treated with anger instead of guidance.
And I don’t care how anyone tries to spin it — this is not discipline.
Do not doubt or underestimate a child’s ability to feel and understand when love is missing from the “lesson.”
We have to stop normalizing this.
We have to stop hiding behind “that’s how I was raised.”
We have to stop confusing trauma with tradition.
Let’s do better as parents.
Let’s raise children who aren’t terrified of the people they depend on.
Let’s create homes where kids feel safe, not scared.
Let’s break these cycles once and for all.
Children deserve gentle hands, patient voices, and safe hearts — not trauma they’ll spend a lifetime healing from.
