An asymmetrical halo coronal mass ejection (CME) is associated with the X1.7 solar flare earlier this morning around Earth facing AR 4274. A passage past Earth will be likely within 48-72 hours. I would also expect a geomagnetic storm watch to be posted once this event is analyzed by NOAA/SWPC. A further update will be provided once this is available. See comments for a quick video.

We could expect to see 1”-2” of rain fall per hour, with an isolated possibility of up to 3.5” of rain per hour. The ground is hard and dry and will not be able to absorb that much water that quickly. So if you live in an area prone to flash floods, please take appropriate precautions.
