UPDATE: A Johnston City mail carrier for USPS tells me that rumors of the Johnston City Post Office closing permanently are completely false, and that leaders are currently working on a timeline to get the facility back open as soon as possible.

The Johnston City, Ill. Post Office has been temporarily closed since April 2026.
