"Grace is known and respected in songwriters’s circles and has co-written with Lori McKenna, and now with Jackson Emmer and Jeff Plankenhorn to sediment her distinction. These songs are deeply insightful and wrapped in upbeat “snap your fingers” country and rootsy rock styles. The coastal energies, the sea and the beaches are carried through the imagery of family life, growing up, working hard, getting out, looking back, and raising kids of your own. Tune in and enjoy the experience." - Elise Cady, Americana Highways 8-6-2025

Eddie Skuller has released a video of a live performance of his current releases, a moving cover of Tom Waits’ “Chocolate Jesus.” The performance comes from Hoboken’s 503 Social Club on May 10th. Check out the video of "Chocolate Jesus" at https://youtu.be/m0c0qvymY4U?list=RDm0c0qvymY4U

"I covered this tune with the intention of sharing a bit of whimsy to counter the heaviness in the world," says Eddie Skuller about his new single interpreting Tom Waits' "Chocolate Jesus." Waits released the song, written with Kathleen Brennan, on his 1999 album, Mule Variations, which won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2000. "I am delving into the dark, melancholy repertoire of Tom Waits, but I also enjoy the brighter moments of humor and irony that drift into his storytelling. As a singer, I take on the character in a song. It’s refreshing to channel the absurdity and comic madness of 'Chocolate Jesus.'"

Skuller, a Jersey City based vocalist and songwriter, currently performs live and is recording a tribute to the songwriting of Tom Waits. Eddie believes Waits to be the ultimate folk storyteller with a deep understanding of character and melody. The first single for this project is “Chocolate Jesus.” Joe McGinty (Psychedelic Furs, Ryan Adams, Rhett Miller) on keyboards and Jeremy Chatzky (Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, Laura Cantrell) on upright bass accompany Skuller on "Chocolate Jesus."

Skuller also performs as a perennial guest singer with The Losers Lounge, which includes McGinty and Chatzky, an acclaimed tribute series that appears at Joe’s Pub and City Winery in New York City. He will perform "Ballads of Tom Waits" at the legendary venue My Father’s Place in Roslyn, NY on October 18, 2025.
