It’s been an emotional week that’s put me behind on a lot of prep I wanted to tackle. Isn’t that how it happens? You start to step into a new season and something always goes sideways?!

Beau is my 10 year old Feist. I found out Thursday he has Lymphoma affecting all of his lymph nodes and now his liver and spleen.

He was put on steroid treatment and can stay on it as long as it’s working. The wrinkly part of his neck in the turtle pic is where the most swelling was. The steroids seem to be doing their thing as the vet promised.

Feists are predicted to live 12-15 years so I’m definitely not ready to say goodbye at barely 10 years 🥺🤞🏻

Your sons are expecting a strong example of a leader.

What does it say to your children when they hear you still being called “baby” by your own mom?

What does it say to your children when they see your own mom wanting to peel your orange or make sure you go to bed instead of attending your children’s events because you have odd work hours?

What does it say when your children know there is no privacy between you and them? That they know when they tell you something you immediately pick up the phone and tell your mama their business?

What does it say to your wife when you tell her something but then feel obligated to tell your mama the same exact thing?

What does it say to your marriage when there are no boundaries? Mama knows every move your little family makes. Mama knows every decision or dilemma your family is facing. Mama inserts herself because you told her this information so that must mean you want her to “fix” it.

What does this say about you as a grown man who never learned to join the family you created in the roles God gave you?

Lesson learned — do not try to clean gloves or they will turn to jelly and disintegrate.

It’s been a crazy few days!

Luke is a perfect fit with dog brother Beau. I love a good theme but I think my age is showing 🤭🤓

We’re going to get some meat on his bones and I think he’ll fit right in with this crazy bunch.

But, how big is he going to be? He’s going to be huge isn’t he?! 😆😵‍💫 is that why someone dropped him off at the school?!

School starts back TOMORROW.

How did time pass so fast that I now have a sophomore in college, junior in high school, and last year of middle school ever in our house?!
