For several weeks, I’ve been contemplating how to say farewell to this social media page.
To give you some background, I’ve rejoined the military to finish what I started. This choice requires our family to sacrifice a little piece of our bliss for what feels like another three years of struggle.
This morning, as I made my way to the car, the reality hit me hard. There were no morning tasks to tackle, no animals on the farm waiting eagerly for breakfast. Just an overwhelming sense of void and stillness. While I’m thankful that our beloved animals have found caring homes, it’s a bittersweet realization that their forever home is no longer with us.
At first, I considered simply deleting the page, but I’ve ultimately chosen against it. I want to keep this space alive to revisit our little slice of paradise and hold onto the hope that one day, we might reclaim it.
After writing this out in tears, I realize this isn’t truly goodbye. We don’t yet know whether this was the right decision or not. A door has opened, and I had the courage to step through it. I pray I have strength to see it through.
