Taylor Van Pelt opens up about a hard season in her life, standing in the dollar store with $3 to her name after her divorce.

She made herself a promise that day: if things ever got better, she'd use whatever privilege she was given to help other people get back on their feet. It's a promise she and her husband still keep.

Taylor Van Pelt and her husband don't just talk about second chances. They hire justice-impacted workers, rent property to formerly incarcerated tenants, and try to remove real barriers, like unstable housing and part-time jobs that make rent hard to cover.

"Grace can still coexist with accountability," she says, and that's the whole philosophy behind how they run it.

Ben Kappel, dive manager at Georgia Aquarium, once hunted megalodon teeth in a Charleston river so dark and sediment-filled he had to press his dive computer screen against his mask just to see anything, alligators included.

He says it's one of the wildest dives he's ever done, and exactly the kind of thing that keeps him coming back.

Georgia Aquarium runs a swim program for veterans, and dive manager Ben Kappel told us about one of his favorite moments in it: a veteran who'd done multiple tours overseas, shaking and terrified in the water, who he held by the hand through her first swim with the whale sharks.

By the end, she was swimming on her own and waving to her mom through the glass.

My guest is Pearson Kilgore, President of Suncatcher of Atlanta who also spends a lot of his time building things on the side. Last April he committed to posting about his son Tripp on Instagram every single day for a year (.tripp), and it's turned into real brand deals and, honestly, something pretty therapeutic for him.

But watching that following grow got him asking a bigger question: what happens if Tripp doesn't want to or cannot have an Instagram of his own someday? That question is what pushed him to start building Mantle, a private time capsule app for parents who want to document their kids without putting it all online.
