Pleasantly surprised that so many folks are willing to share their, or a family members story with us. Some are even writing them themselves, which is amazing! Some send them in for us to do. Thanks to all who have so far. This has been a lot of work, but has been a joy to hear some of these stories.

We have a new writer for the magazine! Michael Anderson has come on board to do a piece every issue. Mike submitted the "Coon Dogs and Corn Likker" piece in the April/ May issue and will be continuing doing articles on Southern life for all our issues. Welcome to the Stompin' Family, Mike!
If you have an article you'd like to submit, please contact us at [email protected]

There has been a change in content for the June/July issue. The old Field/Tumlin/Conner house is not quite ready for final photos, and will be moved to the Aug/Sept issue. Thanks!

We did find an error in the magazine. On the Grizzle story, Walking by Faith, Not by sight, there is an omission of a paragraph and a partial sentence. It should read at the top of page 28:

George Grizzle accomplished much in life. Along with the houses, cabinets, stores, and a playhouse for his granddaughter, he also made over 1500 cotton baskets. He made them out of split white oak poles, peeling and splitting then weaving them together. He learned by practicing, then sold them from .50 to a dollar.

As a young man on the farm, George needed another room, but couldn’t afford to have it done.

We apologize for the error.
