I don’t know how I would count the number of times I’ve experienced first hand the imbalances and double standard between men and women in this society - specifics aside, the struggle is real - and I’m not part of one of the more marginalized groups. Their struggle is what we stand up for, what we advocate for, and why we won’t be silenced.
I have high hopes for . I do not want her to ever feel less than anyone in this world. She is intelligent, funny, curious, nurturing, active & physical. She wants to be a veterinarian and an artist and a singer, she wants to play hockey and soccer and dance and generally be a princess. Her daddy and I support whatever she wants to try and whomever she chooses to be - she’s a tiny force of nature and she’s going to do great things on her terms.
Today is not the day to air grievances. It’s a day to celebrate achievements and note that my girl can change the world one day if she chooses that as her path. Her options are limitless.

Part of a brand photoshoot is thinking about what you want people to think when they recognize you, your services/products, your team–your brand. But some of that comes in how you make people feel about your brand. You can’t be too obvious or too subtle. That’s why I love brand photography. I get to help clients think outside the box of their own ideas and expectations. That’s exactly what happened with Nora. Nora Yolles Young is a board certified hypnotherapist, soul-mind coach, author, anthropologist, instructor, intuitive healer, and owner of Young Hypnotherapy. She and I worked together while she was going through her rebranding, so we had to capture her unique talents and skills in ways that would captivate her audience. We took to the Museum of Art. It was chilly out, but we focused outside the Museum to capture her enthusiasm, energy, and badassery. (Yeah, I made it up, but you’ll see what I mean.) Check out some of my favorites! I am a digital content specialist and brand + marketing photographer. I teach you to effectively leverage a personal brand and share your stories through creative storytelling images and with content that sells without being salesy. I help you cut through all the noise of online marketing and get in front of the people who will buy your product or service, and then help you create content that engages your target audience (I’ll give you a tip - engagement is the pixie dust of content marketing!)
I started my career as a clinically trained social worker - I spent over 15 years in healthcare, helping others adjust to a "new normal," developing skills to adapt to changes brought about by illness and injury. I found something lacking, though, and made a decision almost 10 years ago to turn a hobby into a business, studying everything I could get my hands on about digital photography and marketing, building technical skills while figuring out how and with whom I wanted to apply my skills.
I love seeing a vision come to fruition, and my favorite part of this business is collaborating and developing relationships with my clients. Brand + marketing photography is a perfect fit for me; just like building a rapport with patients in the hospital, building trust and bonding with clients leads to better outcomes - less stressful sessions, more authentic images, and more engagement in the process. My goal is to get to know you, your business and your goals so we can collaborate on how to best capture and share your stories.
When I'm not behind a camera or computer, you'll find me networking and spending quality time with my tribe, chasing my preschooler, running my 4th grader out and about to various activities, or out cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes on date night with my hubby.
