Heads up, Wahkiakum County!

On April 4th, Wahkiakum County Volunteer Firefighters will be conducting a LIVE FIRE TRAINING in the 400 block of Middle Valley Rd (near the cross streets of Middle Valley & Peterson Road).

👨‍🚒 What to expect:
• A training house burn
• Around 50 personnel on scene
• Multiple fire apparatus in the area

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨

🌬️ WIND ADVISORY – WAHKIAKUM COUNTY 🌬️

⏰ In Effect: Tuesday, March 24th at 5:00 AM through Wednesday, March 25th at 12:00 AM

We’re tracking a developing offshore system that’s starting to ramp up, and while others may not be talking about it yet… we are.

💨 What to Expect:
• Wind gusts up to 32 MPH
• Stronger winds along the coast and beaches 🌊
• Breezy to windy conditions inland

⚠️ Even though this isn’t a major windstorm, it’s enough to:
• Knock around loose outdoor items
• Make driving a bit tricky, especially on exposed roads
• Bring that classic coastal “hold onto your hat” kind of day 😅

👀 We’ll continue watching this system closely. If conditions intensify, updates will follow.

📢 Remember:
“No one else may be reporting on it… but here at Wahkiakum County Weather, we call it how it is!”

Stay safe and secure those patio chairs!

🌬️ Wind Update for the Coast & Surrounding Areas 🌬️

We’re currently watching a developing system just offshore near Long Beach that’s starting to ramp things up a bit. Winds are expected to increase, with gusts reaching up to 32 MPH in some areas.

Right now, conditions are borderline advisory level, but not quite there yet. If we continue to see strengthening or more consistent higher gusts, I’ll go ahead and issue a Wind Advisory.

For now, we’re going to play it by ear and keep a close eye on how things evolve. 👀

💡 Good idea to secure loose outdoor items just in case, especially closer to the coast and open areas.

Stay tuned for updates!

🌤️ Today’s Forecast (a.k.a. “Frosty the Nope-man”) 🥶➡️😎
Wake up to a little spicy frost before 9am ❄️ your car might need emotional support (and a scraper). After that, we upgrade to partly sunny vibes 🌤️ with a high near 56 basically sweater weather that can’t commit.
Wind: doing absolutely nothing. Truly a paid actor. 🍃😴

🌙 Tonight (plot twist: rain enters the chat) 🌧️

Clouds roll in like they pay rent ☁️ and after 2am, we’ve got a 50% chance of showers because Oregon likes to keep things mysterious.

Low around 44, so it’s giving: “hoodie, blanket, and questioning your life choices at 2am.” 🛌😂
Wind picks up slightly… just enough to remind you it exists 🌬️

👉 Overall vibe: Frost in the morning, fake spring by afternoon, and classic Oregon drizzle sneaking in overnight. 🌦️

Wednesday Night;
