December 5th–10th Weather Breakdown.
📍 Today – Saturday
Rain • Mountain Snow • Breezy Winds • Minor Coastal Flooding
A system is moving through bringing steady lowland rain, mountain snow, and breezy conditions. Strongest winds will be along exposed areas. Snow levels stay high today, then drop tonight—higher passes may stack up several inches. Minor coastal flooding is possible around high tide. Rivers will begin a slow rise.
📍 Sunday
Weak System • More Rain • Mountain Snow
Another weak system arrives with more rain for the lowlands and snow in the mountains. Coastal flooding risk lowers but still possible along interior coasts near high tide. Rivers continue gradually rising.
📍 Monday
🚨 Atmospheric River Arrives
A stronger system pushes in, bringing widespread moderate to heavy rain. Expect sharp rises on local rivers. Winds pick up Monday morning and become breezy county-wide by afternoon. Strongest gusts will be along the coast and northward.
⚠️ Increased landslide & burn-scar flood risk.
📍 Tuesday – Wednesday
🔴 Heavy Rain & River Flooding Risk
Heavy, continuous rainfall will impact the lowlands and mountains. Many rivers could reach or exceed flood stage Tuesday, with the highest risk for widespread flooding on Wednesday.
📍 Thursday & Beyond
💧 Flooding Continues, Slowly Decreasing
Forecast confidence lowers later in the week, but models show a gradual decrease in rainfall. Some rivers especially slower-responding ones—may continue flooding through Thursday or longer depending on how fast water levels recede.
