The End is just the Beginning
By: Joana Mae Singco
Have you ever heard of someone saying "sailing on the seven seas"?
The correspondence of the current towards the seashore. The vast deep of the water where the unknown lies beneath. The waves that came down gushing over and over and again. But when we dive in the deeper we go,the more tales we could find. The more we learn, the more we see greater value of small things. The thing is you don't know what set of speculations you'll encounter in the near future. You don't know how big the waves are and how it will affect you.
A smooth sea never maid a skilled sailor. The seven seas indicates to the hindrance of the future. The milestone is always far ahead of us and far ahead from the beginning. For the grade 10 students it is not a hindrance nor it is a way for us to test and meliorate our capabilities. For the past few years, students come across with a pervasive disease. The health of both students and teachers could be at stake if protocols aren't been applied.
Moreover,it is hard for them to cope up with the 'new normal' of the educational system. Whether it's modular and online not all students could keep up with it. Some students went to some pressures and managements on how would they be able to comply in order to pass to another level. This troubled their reputation but that didn't stop them to finalize the requirements of completers today.
May 2020 was the month and year were everything went upside down. That was the year when we were under quarantine and was forced to do our studies on our homes. It was just like yesterday when students would prepare for their morning routines then off they go to school. As youngsters highschool life is imperishable. Looking back they were persistent to do their job and determined enough to pursue their dreams.
This is the end and beginning of their journey. It is either win or lose. But this time they win. This the end of their junior years and the headstart for the upcoming senior years.
It is a hardwork that is paid with certainty and consistentcy. This momentus day will be cherished throughout the years of being with their batchmates. The feeling is ineffable no words could explain how much time they have spent having breakdowns and pressures they went through the years.
Seeing parents and friends proudly rejoicing on this very special occasion is unforgettable. Each students represents how proudly they stood and hold the achievement they had with their hands. According to a philosopher, nothing worth comes easy. This truly paid their sacrifices and efforts. Because the thing about life is that challenges makes you more responsible. This challenges you to create and train yourself to be tougher. A man well not know the value of success if he didn't have downfalls.
This indicates that to this day they will never be here standing if they didn't assert the negatives to develop. Building those terrain of failures and rejection to be able to climb this far is worth it. Sometimes life doesn't take you to place that smoothly. You will be put in rough edges to be able to find yourself and to finally reach your destination.
Goodluck for your first day!

Living freely is every businessman or woman's wildest dream, well we guess this classmate of ours seemed to be way ahead of our batch in terms of making this dream into reality.
While we are still young, it is important for us to acknowledge and take advantage of these resources that has been given to us like these massive amount of energy, freedom, time and family support that we have. Through these, let me ask you some thought provoking questions, "How do you spend most of your time during this New Normal?"; "Are you maximizing the hobbies and talents that you have?"
Let's meet this young man, Josh Ronan Tablate, an in coming Grade 11 student of GIS who took this opportunity into the next level.
According to Josh, when he was still young, he already had taken interest of caring of aquatic animals and luckily during this modular distance learning period, he was able to get a chance to make money out of his childhood hobby. He also told us it also helped him to purchase his school and basic needs like: food for family, bond paper, ballpen, and clothes, etc. And so, Josh finally made a decision of doing something different and exciting with his time. As a matter of fact, he was fully supported by his family, friends, and other Breeders from Fishing Vibes. Along the way, Josh formed new and strong connections just like Mark Anthony Ferraren from San Roque, Ginatilan who supplied him with the different kinds of breeds, feeds, and important supplies.
For Josh, this is simply more than just because of money but instead he is doing this out of intention to help people who are struggling with this global crisis by providing them special pets, in which they can take care of, and can help them ease their stress with these dazzling and colorful little creatures. Even Josh himself felt relaxed as he took good care of them due to the coolness of fresh water, worries seemed to be washed away too.
So, for students out there, we say that yes, you are never too young or too old to make a difference if you are just willing to set aside pride and be willing to receive the help that you truly need and be grateful. Just make progress each day by doing something fun and creative. With the right determination, positive attitude, along with right actions toward desired goal, we will be unstoppable in no time! Indeed Josh and his family are inspiration.
And we as the voices of Ginatilanon students of today, Parents, if ever you notice certain interests of your kids, listen to them, and be supportive to allow these treasures to bloom. Just like Josh, we need you. Just give us the chance to show who we truly are and how far we can further grow.
How about you?

IS THIS THE NEW DAWN of GINATILAN YOGA SOCIETY?
'Rekindling the Fire Within 🔥'
By: Ms. Drieza Marie Fernandez, Chelsey Marie Cabañog, & Mae Sheilou Dacillo
After a few months of exploration of something interesting here in Ginatilan, and apart from this widespread popularity of Tiktoks everywhere, we stumbled across this refreshing topic about Yoga. What has fueled my extreme excitement and curiousity, for this is for the fact, that we get a chance to interview and write on our feature article, our dear friend, Danica Dawn Tabañag Lucagbo. We are amazed that in this world full of uncertainty and lack of self-clarity, we suddenly felt so astonished upon meeting a real-life Yogini here in Ginatilan. Yes, we have known her for so long, and we felt happy to discover this new aspect and side of her which involves mastery of breathing, concentration, and self-awareness. It is simply disconnecting from the outside world in order to be present on what's inside. Wow, these things were so foreign to us.
If you are a Teenager knowing that sometimes, we students get so overwhelmed upon answering too much modules and even too much usage of social media that enables you to lose focus and balance in your activities, then, Yoga Practice will be perfect for you!
Here is Ms. Danica Dawn Tabañag Lucagbo, a 15-year-old-Grade 9 student from GIS. She loves doing yoga eversince she was a little girl. It seemed like the Yoga practice has been calling out to her. Danica lives in Guiwanon and she has 3 sisters and a twin brother, named Dion Dave Lucagbo.
According to Danica, doing yoga is quite hard at first, you will experience a lot of body injuries, sprains, and muscle cramps upon practice. There were even times when she lost interest in doing yoga but a part of her mind dictates her to take it as challenge because according to her, it is something that completes her and sets her soul on fire. And so, she continued her journey and see herself building up the confidence that she envisions herself to have.
For the span of doing two years of Yoga, it has already become a standard practice of her, because it has given her a healthy and productive lifestyle which enables her to love herself more and as well as the people around her. She also shared few secrets of improving one’s flexibility for starters, for a person to master this kind of practice, it really requires to put all your heart and mind into every single basic steps that it takes to begin the process because there is no shortcut to success. Baby steps should be given value and things should not be rushed out.
Aside from that, Danica also would like to inspire teenagers who are silently suffering from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and mood swings that everything will be alright. It is just part of growth and process of evolving into a better person. And in fact, Yoga can also be a better guide for self-love and self-care instead of drinking alcoholic drinks, smoking, and other toxic intake or companies, which are just temporary escapes of pain. Instead, yoga helps us to find a quiet time to clear our mind, talk to ourselves on what we truly want or who truly are, and organize our thoughts well in order to choose the next better steps to upgrade our lives. Through this, she was able to truly free from the cycles of negativity and instead, she was able to cope with different hardships with ease and calmness within her. Let us step up together and do Yoga to embrace the newest version of us! Try it now and be amazed of the inner and external results.

What Does It Take to Become the "King of The Mountain" Champion?
By: Stephanie Ann Cruz Cabanes
Are you a fan of outdoor activities? Are you into road trail and road trip? Biking can be one of your options. Biking is the best way to get in shape, enjoy the outdoors and have fun while you're doing it. In addition it has a seat and handle with two pedals and also a bell.
In Ginatilan, Province of Cebu, biking is very popular especially to millennials. There are a lot of teenagers who spend most of their time on biking. Waking up in the morning they got dressed into their padded shorts, clip less shoes, helmets, gloves and moisture wicking shorts before strapping on their hydro pack is like a routine to them. Cycling or biking is packed with adventure, skill-training, speed, quick thinking and even teamwork which makes it one of the best recreational sports in the modern world.
Ginatilan is known for famous bikers and one of those, is 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐲. He was born and raised in the said town. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 is very passionate, hardworking, and he is known as a "𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳" in their group. Others call him "𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳" or "𝘭𝘰𝘥𝘴". He started biking last 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏. He goes to different places in Cebu. He love both road trip and mountain view. He joins different clubs, completions on biking and he won and received different awards. The last competition he joined was King of the mountain "KOM" in Ronda, Cebu.
𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐮 𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐥 is a Dutch cyclist who currently rides for UCI PRO TEAM, and he is 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬' inspiration. He is a big fan of 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐮 that's why 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 strive hard to become a pro cyclist someday.
𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 does it all the time because biking has a ton of benefits like it's a good cardiovascular exercise, it can increase your muscle strength and flexibility. It also offer opportunities to socialize and according to 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬, people who make recreation a priority are more likely to feel satisfied with their lives over all.
There are a lot of fun, excitement, and love in biking. Perhaps our favorite thing about it is the sense of adventure and exploration that comes with it. Bikes give you access to trails and areas that cars can't reach. There are so many views that are waiting to be explored, that the eyes are craving to meet. If you love beautiful breath taking views, you'll love cycling. It is indeed a perfect recreation for young individuals like Ancis and his teammates. Go bike and strike and 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 the famous biker once said "𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙤 𝙛𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙨."
Life is full of rough roads, and it takes an adventurous mind to see the beauty of what lies ahead.

The First 🥰
by: Mary Celdean Omoguez
The First arms to hold me,
So tender and dear.
And makes me feel safe,
When I was in fear.
The first one to comfort,
When I felt alone,
And be by my side
Or spent my hours on the phone.
The first one to teach me
the lessons in life.
And guide me through troubles,
through pain and through strife.
The first one to coach me;
The first one to cheer me,
When I needed pep talk,
She would always be near.
The eyes to see me;
Imperfections and all
Show love, acceptance,
And help me stand tall.
The first one I look to,
When I needed a friend.
The first advice that I seek
When my heart's on the mend.
The first hero I had,
The first survivor I knew.
The first doctor, protector,
and counselor too.
Happy Mama's Month to all Moms out there in the world! A single day is never enough to thank all the Moms for their amazing strength, boldness, and bravery! You are indeed everything to all of us 💖🥰

We all have dreams
Dreams that started when we were little
Some could be teachers
Some would want to be soldiers
Some would want to be a hero
Dream high and do not be afraid
Never be afraid to fail
Because failing is part of building
And the journey is
just beginning right there
For some, it may be a passion
Like dancing or singing,
or perhaps something different
Like having a strength to take a chance
So Work hard to reach your dream
Because it is really worth a'waiting
Influences may come along your way
But a guiding voice inside our hearts
Will always be truthful.
It will always stay.

It’s been a year since I have been a totally different person.
And I don’t know if I should
thank you or hate you
for turning me into
this person that can’t love
This person that can’t feel
This person that doesn’t care
Everything is flat and colorless.
Everything is 1D now.
And I miss those moments when
I felt everything so strongly that I wanted to smash my head against the walls.
I feel that now,
but out of frustration that
nothing wakes up in me.
Only tar, mud, and slimy walls.
I look in the mirror and all I can see
is a pale, skinny, vacant face.
And I pull myself back together
to be like someone
Whom I used to be
Before I have knew all of these.
But it seemed as if
she is so foreign from me
that I don’t know how to get close to her..
How to rediscover her
Or how to set her free
And like this
I drag myself
from one day to the other
it will be
better than it was before.
Closed in a dark soundproof room
which I can't hardly escape.
Here you are,
Thinking I’m hopping around picking flowers.
And follow the steps of how you've hurt me
But I am way better than that now
Because I have finally chosen me.

We Met but Never Meant
By: Jane Catubig
I met you at the side ground
As we watched the sun goes down
Never thought that you will be my girl,
And now, look at us,
we've become strangers, once more.
My heart was filled with happiness,
Something I could hardly contain,
I thought, I finally found the one
And spend my whole life with,
The woman who will be the mother
of my kids,
And took them in her arms like how
she used to care for me
But what just happened?
You left me behind,
You left me hanging,
Questions kept running through my mind.
That hunts me down.
I love you so much,
That I just take a step back,
And watch from a far
That even my own happiness,
I sacrificed just for you,
I never thought that
Seeing you smile in someone else’s arms,
Is such a terrible thing to do
But funny thing destiny,
Took us both separately,
Far from the places, out of reach,
But the time spent with you
was never a waste
As bitter as it may taste
The truth will set us free
That We only met
but we were never meant to be.
