The Kinetic Eye Kinetic Eye took it's name from Dziga Vertov. It began in the early 90's as a small press publishing outlet for art & poetry book. The eye is the key.

Later the moniker for a art-focused website which evolved to this FB page for showcasing photos & art. Learning to see enables us to act. To see poverty allows us to address poverty. Poverty in sight. In our yearning to know. To grasp the context of art which helps us to understand the artist. To witness in creation aspects of it's creator. Easter would be an appropriate time to bring religious art into the conversation. "Trifacial Trinity Paintings" came to my attention recently. These paintings were commonplace from the 12th through 17th centuries. What you had were artists seeking to depict a shared divine essence by merging the faces of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Many who saw these images found them disturbing and theologically confusing. Partially in response to these images The Council of Trent pushed for clearer regulation on religious imagery. In 1628, Pope Urban VIII officially banned such depictions, ordering their removal from churches. Some survived—but most disappeared from history.
