The Kinetic Eye

The Kinetic Eye Kinetic Eye took it's name from Dziga Vertov. It began in the early 90's as a small press publishing outlet for art & poetry book. The eye is the key.

Later the moniker for a art-focused website which evolved to this FB page for showcasing photos & art. Learning to see enables us to act. To see poverty allows us to address poverty. Poverty in sight. In our yearning to know. To grasp the context of art which helps us to understand the artist. To witness in creation aspects of it's creator. At the heart of understanding the world around us is our ability to see. Welcome then to...

One of my favorite pieces at the Saint Louis Art Museum is Modigliani's "Elvira Resting at a Table" (1918-19). I picked up a book of his work in college. Opportunities to see these works in person is always a thrill. To know the work helps in seeking to understand the artist. If she's out on public display she's usually in Gallery 213 between the 2nd and 3rd windows on the left.
