📊 Three Election Numbers to Know Right Now
Every cycle tells a story and the early numbers are already painting a picture.
This week, we’re looking at three key data points that shape the final stretch of every campaign:
1️⃣ Early Vote Turnout – Who showed up first? Early voting patterns reveal which types of voters are most motivated heading into Election Day. This is your best indication of what Election Day turnout might look like, more closely aligned than vote-by-mail numbers.
2️⃣ Mail-In Returns – These ballots often determine momentum. A surge in returned vote-by-mail ballots can signal a campaign’s organizing strength (or its missed opportunities.)
3️⃣ Outstanding Mail-In Ballots – Knowing how many are still out there (and where) can guide where to invest your final GOTV efforts. Some of these are easy to retrieve from people who have them laying around their kitchen still. Others are more complicated, such as those being held by college students. Regardless, you should take one final pass at getting them returned before turning attention to Election Day organizing.
Whether you’re managing a campaign, analyzing trends, or just tracking participation, these numbers matter. Because elections aren’t decided on one day anymore. Elections are built over weeks of consistent voter contact, message discipline, and data-driven strategy.
🗳️ Stay tuned for our next breakdown as we track turnout trends leading into Election Day.
