💜 To all the faithful listeners who were confused tonight, when they heard the encore presentation show of the January 31st segment and thought Corridor Blend was being paused again!

That was the last show that Frank Balvanz and I did while the radio station was being reformatted under new (former) owner, Rick Sellers!

Frank took a vacation with his lovely wife Kim Caquelin-Balvanz but we will be back Saturday, June 6th with more guests and more music!🎶

On the Corridor Blend Saturday, May 23rd segment, Frank Balvanz gave you a little of the backstory on my 30-year music career. Here's something you may not know!

In 1989, I recorded my first album at STARGEMS RECORDING STUDIO in Nashville called, "Too Many Sparks". I was featured in Cash Box Magazine with one of my singles titled, “Just Another Notch In Your Gun". It debuted at 83 and climbed the chart with a bullet!

Kevin Hughes, Cash Box chart director, called to congratulate me for reaching number 9 on the chart! Imagine how surprised I was! He also informed me that "DRIVE TIME BLUES" was making it’s way up the chart.

I was even more surprised to learn he was murdered one week after the call.

His murder went unsolved for many years and even appeared on Unsolved Mysteries. You can learn about it by looking up the Music Row murder.

On a show called Court Cases a few years ago, they had solved and televised it. As I watched from my living room, I saw the exact same cover of one of the magazines that I had. And they showed that picture of me as they told about the crimes that were committed by the Cash Box promoter, Chuck Dixon and why he had Tony D' Antonio kill Kevin Hughes.

On May 23rd, 6pm hour, Corridor Blend featured JESSICA MAR & DAD DUO (Jeff Weimer), the incredible father/daughter team from Cedar Rapids who light up every room they play and sing in shared their talent and career stories with us. Their wit and harmonies are so sharp and precise, you'll be captured! Jessica's solo career is amazing! But what a blessing to be sharing that God-given talent in front of audiences with your dad by your side, playing and harmonizing. Frank played Jessica's recorded song “Follow The Feel Good” just before I introduced them to our listeners. Then followed that song with her original called “Fighter”, performing it live in the KMRY studio. What a surprise when Jessica asked Frank and Todd (my significant other), to sing the “Happy Birthday” song to me, along with her and her dad!

They sounded amazing, like they had rehearsed it, with harmonies... it meant a lot to me! The last song performed was one called “Somebody”, another great original. Jessica's vision is to heal the world through music and she's doing just that! Follow her solo career and find out the JESSICA MAR & DAD DUO performance schedule on Facebook.

On May 23rd during the 5:00 hour Corridor Blend featured Jason Christensen, of the Jason Christensen Band. He's a super talented singer/songwriter from the local Cedar Rapids/Marion area. My producer, Frank Balvanz played Jason's original song called “7 Mile Bridge”, recorded from his earlier band days with SCARLET RUNNER. The band is reuniting for a special performance on Friday May 29th at North Point starting at 7:00pm.

The second song Jason sang with acoustic guitar was a Stevie Ray Vaughan song called “Empty Arms”. Then Jason and I coaxed Frank into singing part of the song, “Pride and Joy” another song by Stevie Ray Vaughan. HE NAILED IT! The third song he sang was another original called “River Rise”, a song he wrote about the 08 flood and the rescue with one of his twin daughters in his arms! Be sure to follow Jason on Facebook to keep up on all of his performances.
