We are excited to share a select number of edited images that we received from our photographer, Jacob Spiekermeier, from our recent "Dress for Success" fashion photoshoot. We were thrilled to partner with Target again this year! Students loved styling and modeling these outfits!

Thanks so much to our local Target team, Angie Barnard, Lauren Schmidt, Lexis Wells, Lacey Wedo, and Daisy Torres-Trantow, for providing apparel students with fashion opportunities that are vital to their success. We greatly appreciate your continued partnership!

Students had their camping themed fashion photoshoot out in Palisades-Kepler State Park on November 20th. Some of our team went ahead to the park to set up our staging. Most of the team stuck together and styled hair, put on makeup, prepped garments, assisted models, and packed up cars for our short road trip to our destination. Models were grateful for our Eddie Bauer collaboration so they could be stylish and cozy since it was a very chilly morning! We were getting eager to warm up again. By the end of our shoot, snow flurries were dancing in the wind. Much appreciation to Eddie Bauer for graciously collaborating with us. Special thanks to our photographers, Jacob Spiekermeier and , for agreeing to this adventure and capturing awesome photos! Select photos taken by students.

The second-year students had another photoshoot on November 14th! The purpose was to create an editorial photoshoot, demonstrating many capabilities including but not limited to storytelling, networking, local partnerships, teamwork and collaboration, beauty artistry, and styling. Looks for this shoot were a combination of efforts: pulled from students closets, several pieces were personally constructed by students to emphasize the vibe of the project, and a few items were purchased to add finishing touches. Students partnered with one of our local businesses, Sweet Mercantile CR, for our shoot location. This collaboration provided us with a phenomenal, real-world setting and delightful treats that served as authentic props for our photoshoot! We would like to extend our gratitude to Sweet Mercantile CR for hosting us. Much appreciation to our photographers, Jacob Spiekermeier and , for partnering with us for this unique endeavor.

First-year students had a fashion photoshoot on November 6th, which was a big adventure for them, and it was also their first van trip as a group. They were so excited because we were able to do the photoshoot at the Cedar Rapids Airport! Photoshoots are a lot of time and effort to plan and organize. On location, however, there is often a mix of high activity and downtime here and there, depending on students' roles. The behind-the-scenes photos provide a sneak peek into the action and the waiting...we most definitely fit into our surroundings with all our layers, luggage, books, and coffee. We are grateful for additional assistance from our apparel interns. Special appreciation to for graciously hosting us and allowing apparel students to have this unique experience for our fashion photoshoot! Thanks also to our photographers, Jacob Spiekermeier and , for helping us to navigate the logistics of our adventure and capturing photos for our future edition of BRICOLAGE!

Sophomore students in Fashion Styling experienced a modeling photoshoot on September 19th. The purpose was to capture images for body type analysis as well as focus on modeling techniques (e.g., positioning the body, controlling the face). Therefore, students wore black, fitted garments with no jewelry to eliminate distractions. Students were required to apply their learning of both stationary and moving poses: for the latter, they were allowed an additional garment or accessory. Students later evaluated the final images for further learning and reflection.
