Ok this isn’t all animal related, but this widowed homesteader feels like a beast! My dryer stopped working. It would blow hot but wouldn’t dry. I know it’s silly but I figured it out myself! The silver metal looking hose thingy was disconnected. Woo hoo! This from the girl who didn’t even know how to change a lightbulb four years ago 😂

In animal news, Ash had been in a stall by himself because Popsicle and his harem were being bullies- and I swear my friend’s hubby fixed his cattle panels so tightly! I might have fallen in the mud a few times- just a few- and almost gave up trying to unwind the wires but I did it! Yay!! He’s a free man! And away from the divas. 😆

So true!

Great Pyrenees owners really live in a completely different reality 😅 You wake up one morning thinking you adopted a dog, and suddenly you realize you actually hired a full-time security guard, weather inspector, neighborhood supervisor, emotional support therapist, and nighttime patrol officer all trapped inside one giant fluffy body 😂 These dogs do not sleep peacefully like normal dogs. No. They sleep with one eye open like they’re protecting an entire kingdom. A leaf moves outside at 3:17 AM? Immediate investigation. A cat walks across the street six houses away? National emergency. The wind blows slightly different than yesterday? Time to bark and alert the entire family 😅 And somehow after barking for 15 minutes straight, they walk back inside acting like they just saved humanity from a bear attack. Meanwhile the owners are standing there half asleep looking outside at absolutely nothing 😅 But the funniest part is how serious they are about their job. Great Pyrenees are not joking around. They truly believe every single thing around your home belongs under their protection, including you, your snacks, your couch, your other pets, and even the random grocery bag you left near the door 😂 You can’t even go to the bathroom alone because suddenly there’s a giant white cloud following you like your personal bodyguard. And despite all the chaos, barking, fur everywhere, and dramatic midnight patrols… one look at that fluffy face and somehow you forgive everything instantly 🐾🤍

Siouxsie has a gentleman caller arriving after my beach trip.
His name is Romeo.
Buttercup is pretending to be calm.
Julian has formed a security committee.
I expect nonsense and head butts for love and grain immediately!

I have this mental image of rolling my suitcase up the drive while a tiny Jersey bull steps off a trailer like:

Welcome to the world, sweet little ones! An oops but a blessing! I wish I could keep them all! Why can’t I just be a retired Great Pyrenees farm? 😂. They’re sweet as can be and Joanie is such a good momma. Still protects me ferociously though. Best darn LGD I’ve ever had!
