I think somewhere along the way, we stopped asking, “Do I love my life?” and started asking, “Does my life look like something other people would want?”

I love beautiful homes, decorating and creating—but I never want this space to make you feel like what you have isn’t enough.

I don’t want to influence you into wanting my life. I want to influence you into loving yours. 🤎

If you’re craving a corner of the internet that celebrates beautiful things while still finding beauty in the ordinary, I hope you’ll stay.

What’s something in your life you’re learning to appreciate instead of change?

Would you ever take on the challenge of putting in your own in-ground pool? 😅

If you would’ve told me six months ago that my husband would agree to this project, I would have laughed in your face. 😂 We’ve been having this conversation for the last 8(ish) years, and the answer has always been a big, fat **NO.**

But this year, something changed…and we decided to just go for it. (Or rather, my husband and his team did. I’m mostly here for moral support and design opinions. 🤪)

Guy owns his own construction business with a crew of some truly amazing people. Shoutout Kindred Homestead Construction | Guy Kirby and none of them had ever put in a pool before, but they jumped in full steam ahead! And I have to give them SO much credit because this project has been anything but easy.

There’s still quite a bit left to do before it’s officially “finished,” but for now? There’s water in our backyard, the kids can swim, and we’re choosing to enjoy it exactly as it is.

Sometimes you have to enjoy the middle before you get to the pretty finished product. 🥹

Stay tuned because there’s still SO much more to come! And tell me…would you ever attempt a project like this yourself?! 👇🏼

I think one of the strangest things about sharing your life online is how easy it is to start curating a version of yourself you think people will like.

And if I’m not careful, I can start looking at my own life through the lens of what’s impressive enough to share instead of simply being grateful for what’s mine.

The small town. The old house. The beat-up minivan. The ordinary days.

But the older I get, the more I realize:

I don’t want to influence you into wanting my life. I want to influence you into loving yours.

I love beautiful things. I love creating a beautiful home. And yes, this platform is also a business that helps support my family.

But I never want any of it to make you believe contentment is waiting on the other side of more. Maybe the goal isn’t finally having enough.

Maybe it’s looking at the life already in front of us and realizing...there is so much beauty here, too.🤎

A moment for all the details from this bathroom renovation project. 🤌🏽🙌🏽

I don’t think I have loved a bathroom so much in my life. I wanted this place to feel like a step back in time and in so many ways, it hits that just right!

What’s do you think??
