supporting black mamas and birthing people.

Here are a few things ways you can love on them during
pregnancy:

5 Simple Ways to Practice Self-Care During Pregnancy & Postpartum:

Mamas, caring for yourself is one of the best ways to care for your little one! Your journey through pregnancy and postpartum is full of changes, and small, intentional steps can make a BIG difference in your well-being.

Here’s how you can nurture yourself:
1️⃣ Prioritize Rest: Your body works hard—rest often and sleep well.
2️⃣ Stay Hydrated: Water is your best friend for energy and reducing swelling.
3️⃣ Nourish Your Body: Fuel your body with nutrient-rich foods to feel your best.
4️⃣ Connect with Others A strong support system can lighten your load.
5️⃣ Engage in Gentle Exercise: To boost mood and energy, move your body.

Taking even one of these steps can help you feel more grounded and supported as you navigate this beautiful (and sometimes challenging) season of life.

Hey Sis, Let’s Talk About Prenatal Yoga

Pregnancy is such a transformative journey, but it doesn’t come without its challenges—both physically and emotionally. I know how overwhelming it can feel to balance caring for yourself with everything else happening.

That’s where prenatal yoga became a game-changer for me. It wasn’t just about moving my body; it was about creating a space to breathe, find peace, and prepare for the journey ahead. Now, I’m here to share that space with you.

Prenatal yoga is more than just stretching—it’s about honoring your body, connecting with your baby, and preparing for birth. It’s also about building community, a circle of support with others who understand what you’re going through.

If you’re ready to take time for yourself during this season, I’d love to have you join my upcoming virtual prenatal yoga series. Sign up for my email list (link in bio) to be the first to know when we begin.

Let’s move, breathe, and restore together, Sis. This time is for you.

Black representation is necessary to address healthcare disparities and promote equity. Research shows that a diverse healthcare workforce improves access to care, an individual's perceptions of the care they receive, and health outcomes. Through their presence, Black lactation consultants serve as catalysts for change in our community.
Here are four ways to promote a diverse lactation workforce and improve outcomes for Black families.
1. Advocate: Use your voice and resources to advocate for policies that increase access to lactation care.
2. Donate: Give to community organizations that support Black breastfeeding families.
3. Mentor: Offer mentorships to Black students to increase representation.
4. Share: Get to know the Black IBCLCs in your community and share their contact information with families seeking support.
